Michael King

Keeping Blues Alive

Music has been a part of Michael King's life since his dad first had him banging on the drums before he could even walk. Growing up in his father's footsteps, he began playing the piano at eight, then found his groove behind the drums, playing in church and later across the Dallas/Fort Worth blues scene with artists such as Hash Brown, Texas Slim, and Shawn Pittman. In 2023, Michael picked up the guitar in earnest and formed Michael King & The Icebreakers, stepping out from behind the drums to the front of the stage. Taking inspiration from his father, Albert Collins, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Albert King, Buddy Guy, and Gary Moore, Michael King & The Icebreakers deliver a powerful, passionate, and soulful brand of Texas blues and an undeniable groove.
